Destiny's Cannonball

Michael Fireworker is supposed to believe. A yeshiva student in Brooklyn in the raw months after October 7, he knows the arguments, the answers, the right way to hold a question so it doesn't cut you. What he doesn't know is whether any of it is true — or whether that was ever the point.

Destiny's Cannonball follows Michael through debate halls and diners, past a professor with a wound where his certainty used to be, and toward the people — Lily, Eva — who refuse to let him settle for an easy answer in either direction.
